ADAPTATION
Devonport Regional Gallery
ADAPTATION is an exhibition featuring selected works from senior secondary students across lutruwita /Tasmania enrolled in Object Design University Connections Program.
Design plays a critical role in developing new approaches to an uncertain future shaped by rapid social, climatic, and technological change. Design is no longer just a tool for product styling, improving user experience or branding products and services; it has become a crucial means for adapting to circumstances, some of which are now beyond our control.
This exhibition showcases students’ own interpretations of the theme adaptation. The display demonstrates their ability to unpack real-world issues through a diverse range of creative outputs. They invite us to acknowledge the political, environmental, social, and economic landscapes we currently face and to reflect on our values, actions, and the kind of world we want to leave behind.
The University Connections Program (UCP) provides year 11 & 12 a unique opportunity to undertake introductory university units. The program is offered in partnership between the University of Tasmania, Tasmanian Schools and the Office of Tasmanian Assessment Standards and Certification (TASC).
