EXHIBITION – ON DISPLAY TUESDAY 15 JUNE TO MONDAY 19 JULY
These ceramic pinch pots were made by members of Devonport Regional Gallery’s online art program Home Is Where the ‘Art Is. They were made as part of a celebration of International Women’s Day 2021at the gallery. Inspired by works from the gallery’s collection by Marianne Huhn, which were displayed at the gallery; Story Vessels asked participants to create simple pinch pots in which they scribed text into. The text scribed into the clay was inspired by words from the artist (Marianne Huhn):
“I also like to include text in my work, either on the surface of a pot or in the titles. This adds another layer of meaning or maybe another layer of ambiguity, to my work… Maybe the objects you choose can add to the story of who you are and reflect your dreams and thoughts”…..
