Paper on Skin™ Gala & Award Evening

The world’s premier international wearable paper art gala is back!

Be sure not to miss this spectacular showcase – it happens only once every two years.

33 awe-inspiring works of art will be modelled live during an immersive, theatrical event.

50% of the finalists are international artists, with four Tasmanian and several high-profile national designers represented.

The show features an original soundtrack by ‘Alluvium’ and exquisite visuals.

Local and national models showcase the garments.

Ten awards to be presented on the night.

The paranaple arts centre foyer will be transformed, with patrons to be led through a stunning paper garden installation. The garden has been months in the making, created during a series of community workshops led by paper artist Stephanie Reynolds.

In keeping with the prestige of the night, patrons are encouraged to glam up.

Ticketing Options:

Gala VIP Premium Package: Limited tickets are available for a VIP pre-show soirée featuring nibbles, a complimentary drink on arrival and a performance by the Mersey Dance Collective. VIP patrons will also access a premium seat in the theatre for the gala.
The pre-show soirée is supported by the Friends of the Devonport Regional Gallery.

Held at Basalt restaurant at The Cove, patrons will have an exclusive opportunity for an ‘up-close’ experience with the award-winning works and a live Q&A with artists. Cultural Practitioner Karen Smart will lead a Welcome ceremony featuring the Treenoner Dance Mob.
