Surfacing – nowhereprint

Devonport Regional Gallery

Surfacing is a group exhibition featuring 14 contemporary printmakers from across Lutruwita/Tasmania, working as part of the nowhereprint collective, an intergenerational group spanning emerging to established artists.

Responding to the island as both place and process, the exhibition draws a parallel between the shifting surface of the landscape and the printmaking matrix. Like the island itself, the surfaces we work upon are sites of constant negotiation that become marked, layered, and transformed through pressure, time, and material exchange.

The works presented capture a broad range of printmaking techniques, reflecting the diversity of practices within the collective.
