tidal.24: City of Devonport Tasmanian Art Award Exhibition

Devonport Regional Gallery

The tidal.24: City of Devonport Tasmanian Art Award is a biennial, acquisitive award exhibited at the Devonport Regional Gallery. Artists were invited to submit 2 or 3-dimensional artworks that reflect on the theme of tidal – the natural, cultural, personal, or political concerns related to the sea and coastal regions.
This will be the 11th instalment of the award.

The Exhibition will showcase 57 Artworks from 56 artists, that were preselected from 146 entries by Marnie Karmelita, Artistic Director, Ten Days on the Island, Dr. Julie Gough, Curator, Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery and Dr Malcom Bywaters, Director, Academy Gallery, University of Tasmania.

Featuring works from the following artists:
Rodney Alexander, Craig Ashton, Eleanor Austin, Lynn Baird, Jane Bamford, Lorraine Biggs, Georgia Bowker Dunn, Selena de Carvalho, Dave Carswell, Darren Cook, Suzanne Crowley, Louise Daniels, Jamie Edward, Lisa Garland, Kaye Green, Elaine Green, Paul Gundry, Neil Haddon, Alana Hampton, Robyn Harman, Rosie Hastie, Marianne Hawke, Jade Irvine, Sally James, Richard Klekociuk, Keith Lane, Jan Larcombe, Averill Lawler, Kim Lehman, Wayne Looyen, Sue Lovegrove, Penny Mason, Janelle Mendham, Chris Morgan, Anne Morrison, Max Mueller, Matthew Newton, Tom O’Hern, Gaynor Peaty, Ryan Rivers, John Robinson,  Darryl Rogers, Troy Ruffels, Brooke van Ruiswyk, David Wayne Salter, Emily Snadden, Melissa Smith, Mel Stanger, Neridah Stockley, Gabbee Stolp, Alison Thomas, Paul Thomas, Evelyn Vyhnal, Emily-Rose Wills, Sharyn Woods and Paul Wynne.

The $20,000 Major Acquisitive Award  

The Award is sponsored by the Devonport City Council and the Friends of the Devonport Regional Gallery.

The Award will be presented at the opening of the exhibition. 

The $1,500 non-acquisitive People’s Choice Award  

The Award is sponsored by One Agency Collins Real Estate.

The Award is selected by the viewers of tidal. The Award will be announced at the conclusion of the exhibition.
