Exhibition Proposals
Devonport Regional Gallery welcomes developed exhibition proposals from Tasmanian arts practitioners. Please ensure you meet all the requirements outlined below and submit your application via the link.
About our exhibition program:
Devonport Regional Gallery presents a program of exhibitions across our three gallery spaces: The Main Gallery, Upper Gallery, and Little Gallery. These include national touring, solo, group, curated, and community exhibitions. We are committed to supporting and promoting Tasmanian arts practitioners at all career stages.
Who can apply:
Applicants must currently reside in Tasmania, or in the case of a group exhibition, a majority of the applicants must currently reside in Tasmania.
We welcome exhibition applications from arts practitioners working in any media and at any career stage.
Proposal requirements:
- Contact details
- Up to 10 high quality images
- CV and bio for each applicant
- links to website (if available)
- Exhibition outline (no more than 500 words)
Your exhibition outline must detail the conceptual premise and give a description of the project.
Images must be clearly identified with the artist’s name, artwork title, year, medium, dimensions in cm (height x width x depth)
Assessment:
Proposals will be assessed by the Devonport Regional Gallery Advisory Committee. based on the quality of the application and proposed exhibition content, benefits to the applicant, Gallery, and community, and taking into account lead time, exhibition planning, funding requirements and other relevant requirements.
Successful applicants will be contacted by Gallery staff within eight weeks of applying. Suitable exhibition space and dates will be allocated at the discretion of the Gallery team in consultation with the applicant.
Feedback on your application will be provided upon request to artgallery@devonport.tas.gov.au
Successful applicants will receive:
- Curatorial support
- Technical support for exhibition installation and deinstallation
- An exhibition fee calculated at NAVA rates
- An opening event and opportunity to give a floor talk and/or workshop
- Marketing and promotion
