Best in Exhibition
Sue Wignall – Unveiled – As the Mist Rises
“This is technically strong in both composition and execution. The modest medium of pen is beautifully suited to the subject and brings a delicacy and beautiful tonal values to what is quite a harsh subject. Congratulations, Sue.”

Highly Commended 1
Sandra Jenkins – Vintage Memories
“The circular form, capturing the folds and lines of the blanket, was an inspired choice – confidently executed. At once complex and simple, this work offers a bold and striking composition and colour scheme that invites the viewer to get lost in the folds of memory.”

Highly Commended 2
June Hope – Solace
“What we loved about this piece was the way it reveals itself to you on approach. From afar, a striking abstract; up close, the painterly felting and other mixed media techniques offers a textural delight. This is a layered, technically accomplished work that is both sophisticated and dynamic.”

Emerging Artist Award
Rebkah Russell – Drift Away
“A whimsical composition with a strong sense of fun and storytelling. Beautifully presented, with harmonious colour balance and an imaginative atmosphere, it’s the face that draws the viewer in – a focal point full of character that anchors the fantastical world around it.”
