Thompsons’s paintings use online aerial images to consider the relationships between the Mersey and its inhabitants.
Rather than employing a conventional pictorial view of the landscape, the use of aerial imagery sourced from the internet provides an uncommon vantage point for the viewer to contemplate the semi-abstracted imagery.
