In 2007 he was the recipient of the prestigious Glover Prize for his painting titled Western Mountain ecology – The relationship rather than the things themselves. This solo exhibition has been commissioned by the Devonport Regional Gallery and presents a new series of paintings based on the artist’s timber mill research. Included was a series titled Synecdoche III which Arnold created in the 1980’s when undertaking a residency at Savage River. Also included in the exhibition was a four panel etching series from the Devonport Regional Gallery Permanent Collection titled Justify the Line – Iron Blow re-excavation.
