Older? Wiser? Stronger?
Nanna Bayer: 2022 Solo Commission Exhibition
24 September – 12 November 2022
Main Gallery, Ground Level
Take a journey with Finnish artist Nanna Bayer into a world of re-discovery. Coming from a land of lakes and forests; of extended periods of darkness and magical Arctic lights, the connection to nature determines much of her aesthetics. However, Bayer questions our assumptions of an unchanging world and gently reminds us of our tenuous position within an unsustainable environment.
Bayer explores this through notions of inclusiveness, of self-reflection, of light and dark and by employing a range of ceramic practices. The diversity of this sensory experience will hopefully reconnect her audience to their more primal instincts.
