Rising Shimmer explores the ephemeral shifting light where sea and sky meet as horizon. Inspired by ocean ecologies, shimmering surfaces and southern climates, these works reveal the horizons of our interior worlds – the line between pleasure and pain, safety and risk, arousal and numbness, meaning and melancholy. At some point, we all find ourselves going down to the deep and encountering fear, we experience raging storms that well up as if to destroy, and then sometimes, once again, we find those places of quiet, shimmering beauty.

This exhibition is presented under the Little Gallery Emerging Artist Program.
