Professional Learning Offerings 2024:

Featured in image: The Arts - Visual Arts content and structure [from Version 9 Australian Curriculum]

Each Term this year the Tasmanian Art Teachers Association and Devonport Regional Gallery will present a Professional Learning event aligned with current exhibitions and connecting to the content descriptor strands within the curriculum.

o          Term 1: Exploring and Responding – Saturday 2 March (click here for event details)

o          Term 2: Developing practice and skills

o          Term 3: Creating and Making

o          Term 4: Presenting and performing

Each Professional Learning event will include an exhibition floor talk, a hands on making workshop, connections and curriculum mapping. Taking part in these events will present opportunities for collegial conversations around art teaching.

Engaging in professional learning engages skills that build confidence and competence in teaching and art practices, and teachers can accomplish more when drawing upon the experiences of other teachers. Connecting with the gallery will present opportunities to engage with contemporary issues and modes of practice.

All programs are free to join with materials supplied. Participants do not have to be members of the Tasmanian Art Teachers Association.
