Time to pick a star is a multidisciplinary installation created by Hobart-based artist CiCi Zhang where memory, distance, and imagination are abstracted to form quizzical imagery. Drawing on stories from her Chinese heritage, and combining her love for Tasmania’s plants and animals, CiCi builds a curious and enchanting dream scape for visitors to experience.

One day my head was pried open, and I was told that my job from now on was to be a dream reader. I wandered among all things in the world, I disguised myself, shape shifting through time and space, becoming other. One day I came to the border of the world, where all the stories merged …
