North West Art Circle is a well-established group on the North West Coast of Tasmania, with some 60 members sharing a passion for making art and a collective goal to promote and further develop their arts practice.

This enjoyable and ever-popular annual exhibition is a showcase of themes expressed in a variety of media.

The closing event Artists in Action is a great opportunity to meet some of the members doing demonstrations and ask them questions about their practice.

Congratulations to all members of the North West Art Circle on the opening of their 2024 Annual Community Art Exhibition & Awards.

The exhibition was visited today by judges Christine Matthews, Lexie Hines and Eleanor Austin, with their chosen awards and comments as follows:

MAJOR AWARD WINNER: Sue Wignall

Work: Watching and Waiting, pen.
Judge’s Comment: this decision did entail the three of us contemplating this work for quite some time before making the final decision. Presentation, composition, use of the medium and creative design all combine to make an outstanding work of art.

SECOND HIGHLY COMMENDED: Gina Piroska
