Collecting for Tasmania II showcased art works acquired by the Devonport Regional Gallery on behalf of the Devonport City Council during 2005, 2006 and 2007. The exhibition featured works by emerging and established Tasmanian artists and demonstrated the vibrant and contemporary nature of the growing Collection.
The Devonport City Council Collecting Policy is focussed upon supporting artists living in Tasmania. It is anticipated that over time the Collection will embody the best of Tasmanian contemporary art, craft and design practice from the date of the Gallery’s inauguration, 1966, to the present.
